CSTA GREATER HOUSTON TEACHER SPOTLIGHT SERIES: BRADLEY QUENTIN

The Greater Houston Chapter of CSTA partners with educators and administrators across the area to educate, empower, and inspire K-12 teachers and advocates to realize the vision of computer science (CS) for all.

Bradley Quentin is a teacher at Sinclair Elementary School in Houston Independent School District (HISD). He currently teaches STEM Lab, which he created at the school nine years ago for Pre-K through 5^th grade students. Prior to his time at Sinclair, Mr. Quentin taught as Milam Elementary and Stevenson Elementary (both in HISD). In his 23 years of teaching, he has taught 2^nd grade, 3^rd grade, and math/science in 4^th and 5^th grades.

We caught up with Bradley to hear about his experiences as a teacher working in CS, his perspective on education, and the importance of teaching CS in schools.

CSTA GREATER HOUSTON TEACHER SPOTLIGHT SERIES: TATIANA MOORE

Tatiana Moore is a teacher at KIPP Sharpstown College Preparatory Charter School. She currently teaches Fundamentals of Computer Science and AP Computer Science Principles. Ms. Moore also spent time at International Leadership of Texas Windmill Lakes-Orem High School teaching Intro to Audio/Visual Communications and Audio/Video Production 1/2.

We caught up with Tatiana to hear about her experiences as a teacher working in CS, her perspective on education, and the importance of teaching CS in schools.

Houston Scratch Ed Meetup

Welcome to the semi-quarterly Houston area ScratchEd Meetup! This gathering is open to all formal and informal educators who use, or are interested in using, the Scratch and Scratch Jr programming languages with the children they teach. No previous programming experience is necessary!

In our January meeting there were nominations and elections for the vice president and a community partnership chapter leader. A vote was casted and we elected Allen Antoine for Vice President and Tonya Davis for the Community Partnership Chapter Leader.
